July review – pitchers
The pitching and defense continue to impress. Still fewest runs allowed in the league, first in starter ERA, bullpen ERA and FIP as well as Zone Rating. Second in pitching WAR.
Ramon Martinez was, as the Pitcher of the Month award alludes to, great in July.
The rest of the rotation was pretty good as well.
Some runs scored while Hershisher was on the mound, but he had a .330 BABIP during the month, so we'll chalk that up to some bad luck.
The big 3 of Beck, Wetteland and Gott continue to mow hitters down
