11 June 2298 - Batting Practice Accident Injures Fogcrawler

First the bad news: Nordhagen Beach's Michael Fogcrawler has a finger sprain, an injury he sustained while getting beaned during batting practice. Now the good news: the injury, which was thought at first to be more serious, will keep the Party Boys left fielder out of action for only about one week.

Just one day after the ecstacy of the best game of his young career, Fogcrawler now can only root his team on in their important series versus Easy Town.

This season in 48 games, Fogcrawler has hit at a .353 clip with 65 hits, 17 home runs, 56 RBIs, and 36 runs scored.

11 June 2298 - Homebody, Go Power Ghouls Offense

Nick Homebody had a big hand in The Slog's 14-4 triumph over County Crossing. He rattled off 4 hits in 4 at-bats, scoring 2 times and knocking in 2 runs. Millioncap Go also had an explosive day, falling just a single shy of hitting for the cycle. He was 3 for 6 with a double, a triple, and a home run, with four runs scored and three driven in.

The winning pitcher was Edwin Mass. He's now 3-5. He went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits for the Ghouls. The 5th-place Bloodbugs have lost 4 consecutive games.

C.T. Woodard added two doubles for The Slog, going 4 for 5 on the day with a run and three RBI.

Joel Carrotflower and Biter Trout each had three hits for the Bloodbugs. Carrotflower had a double, scored a run, and drove in a run. Trout scored twice.

11 June 2298 - Dwellers Throttled by Swatters, 4-1

Diamond City picked up a win at The Great Green Jewel, toppling the Vault 81 Dwellers, 4-1. Pitcher Mark Stuhlsatz was one of the reasons the Swatters triumphed. The winning pitcher was Stuhlsatz, now 5-6. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball while walking 2 and fanning 6. The losing streak for Vault 81 has now reached 4 games.

The Swatters got a big at-bat from first baseman Jeffrey Curatolo. For the game, Curatolo was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Diamond City a 3-1 lead.

"Enjoyed this one," Curatolo told the Diamond City News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

11 June 2298 - Victory Over Assaultrons Takes Nordhagen Beach to 31-18

With center fielder Ryan Combs leading the charge, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys defeated the Easy Town Assaultrons, 11-6, at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium. Combs, who is tied for 2nd in the NCA in stolen bases with 16, was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 4 runs, tying him for a Nordhagen Beach game record. The North Charles Association Brotherhood League-leading Party Boys have a record of 31-18 and now a three-game lead over Easy Town in the Brotherhood League.

Nordhagen Beach took a 6-3 lead on Brian Masterson's 9th double of the season. The bases-clearing, three-run double, which Masterson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Easy Town pitcher Marc Woodsman shaking his head.

"We got the victory," said Combs. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

The Party Boys added five more runs in the bottom of the 8th to extend their lead to 11-3 before the Assaultrons scored three in the 9th for the final 11-6 tally.

The big story of the morning was losing Michael Fogcrawler to a finger injury which could not be cured by chems nor stimpack. Jonathan Angelou got his first start in Fogcrawler's place, getting only one hit, but it was a big one. In the 8th inning with two on, Angelou went yard off reliever Beanpole Callaway. Angelou had eight home runs this season with Greentop Nursery.

"Huge win," Nordhagen Beach manager Craig Robinson. "After our bad news this morning, it was nice to still come out and hit the ball. Hats off to Angelou, too. That home run was a big hit for the kid."

11 June 2298 - Silver Shroud Win at Starlight, 7-3

The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud bested the Starlight Lady Killers by a score of 7-3, with second baseman Mark Miller getting the main credit. On the day, Miller went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Silver Shroud. Earning his 16th save of the year was Curtis Thriceshot. With the win, Fort Hagen pushed its record to 26-23.

Miller had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-2 fastball from City Moore, he banged a grand slam home run to right-center, giving the Silver Shroud a 7-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Miller.

Miller told a Fort Hagen Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The Shroud's win broke a seven-game winning streak for Starlight, which had yet to lose in the month of June. Fort Hagen is now a game back of the Killers and two games back of the suddenly-reeling Abernathy Adamantium, which lost their fourth straight game today.
