30 June 2298 - The Slog-Sunshine Tidings Trade: Bourque for Provisioner

There were plenty of hugs and handshakes all around as 20-year-old minor league LHP Jason Bourque left the The Slog Ghouls today en route to joining the Sunshine Tidings Chemists organization. 27-year-old 1B Joe Provisioner will be traveling to The Slog Ghouls to complete the swap.

So far this year, Provisioner is batting .284 with 9 home runs and 39 RBIs.

30 June 2298 - BMU: Nerd Ragers Earn 3-2 Win Versus Raybathers

The Mystic Pines Raybathers got a superb performance from pitcher Mark Gearhead, but the College Square Nerd Ragers still won the game, 3-2. Gearhead threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Muther Eckstein picked up the save, his 8th. The win puts College Square at 25-19 this season.

Had Slosh Nicklepenny not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Nicklepenny hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Nerd Ragers.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Mystic Pines manager Justin Chops. "The effort was great."

30 June 2298 - BMU: Lifegivers Pull Off Thrilling 4-3 Win in Extras

Corvega got a terrific performance from pitcher Jamie Collins, but it wasn't enough to beat the Union Hope Lifegivers. Union Hope won the Corvega Stadium contest, 4-3. Collins threw 7 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Mark Phillips earned the save, his 1st, for the Lifegivers. The Flamers, now 19-25, have lost 10 in a row.

The Flamers wasted a fine effort from Collins, who struck out 15 and held the Lifegivers without an earned run over 7.1 innings.

30 June 2298 - BMU: Dominant Performance by Harbonne in Natick Banks Win

The Natick Banks Big Leaguers racked up a win at Poseidon Park, bumping off the Forest Grove Mole Rats, 4-2. Massive Harbonne, who started for Natick Banks, pitched effectively for his team. Ben Rodgers sewed up the save, his 1st. Natick Banks has 3 straight wins, Forest Grove 3 straight losses.

Harbonne, the winner, is now 3-2 after putting the clamps on the Forest Grove offense. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while collecting 9 Ks.

"Massive was throwing strikes, locating well," said Natick Banks manager Scott Vetson.

30 June 2298 - BMU: Behemoths Lose By a Run at Galleria, 5-4

The Galleria Robotics Experts withstood an impressive performance by Breakheart Banks catcher Cozy Kazar to defeat the Behemoths, 5-4, at General Atomics Galleria Park. Kazar was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The save went to Mike Hamman, his 2nd this season. Galleria has a 3-game win streak, while Breakheart Banks has lost 3 in a row.

In the bottom of the first, Mop Lopez hit a 3-run home run. The 6th home run of the season for the Galleria center fielder put the Robotics Experts on top, 3-0.

"Both teams played hard," said Galleria manager Alfredo Barios.
