Eakle Takes Home CA Top Batter Award: Union Hope Lifegivers fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in June.
Chris Eakle put up a remarkable month at the age of 19 and has been named the Commonwealth Association Batter of the Month.
For the month, Eakle hit .327 with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
This year Eakle has hit at a .279 pace and produced 34 RBIs, 10 home runs and scored 30 runs.
Wilde Brings Home MA Batter of Month Honor: Hunter Wilde may be much younger than other hitters in the Massachusetts Association, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in June to win the Batter of the Month award.
The 19-year-old Haymarket Mall first baseman hit .440 with 10 home runs, 24 RBIs and 17 runs scored.
This season Wilde has 10 home runs and a .440 batting average.
Commonwealth Association Announces #1 Starter: Chad Sweet took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the Commonwealth Association Pitcher of the Month award for June.
The 19-year-old Raybathers starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 4-0 won-lost record in 4 starts. This month he fanned 38 batters in 28 innings and compiled a 1.61 ERA.
In 9 starts this season Sweet has crafted a 7-1 record with a 2.58 ERA.
Capps Top MA Starter in June: R.J. Capps has made fans throughout Boston Minor Union take notice over the past month with an exceptional 3-0 record. No pitcher in the Massachusetts Association threw better in June, garnering him the Pitcher of the Month award today.
In 4 starts Capps compiled a 1.52 ERA, putting up a 3-0 record, striking out 25 and tossing 29.2 innings.
Capps has started 12 times this year, pitched 77 innings, fanned 77 batters and walked 19. His current record is 7 wins and 2 losses with a 2.69 ERA.
