16 July 2298 - Gimp is Gimpy
FHE Yao Guai reliever Gimp Shackelford has to make an emergency trip to Vault 81 this morning after discovering an apparent infection on his backside.
Shackelford woke up with soreness and redness covering the entirety of his lower back all the way down to his hamstrings. Team trainer Andy Roe alerted Shackelford that he had a bad infection, possibly a "staph" infection that would need to be treated. Roe decided that Shackelford needed to go to Vault 81 instead of Milton General Hospital because Marie Curie may know better how to treat him.
In 18 games pitched on the season, Shackelford has allowed five earned runs on 23 hits with four walks and 25 strikeouts in 26.2 innings.
16 July 2298 - Mayday Wilkins Looking to Adjust
It has only been a month since Mayday Wilkins joined Goodneighbor in a trade from FHE, but the reliever thinks he will have a big impact come September.
Since joining the Hancocks, Wilkins has only appeared in three games, allowing no earned runs on two hits with a walk and a strikeout in 3.2 innings. He last appeared July 13 against Oberland when he pitched two scoreless innings in the 2-1 loss. Despite his low usage, Wilkins, however, is not discouraged from getting little work.
"I came here because Goodneighbor wants to win the championship," Wilkins said. "I don't think they traded for me without a plan."
On the season, Wilkins is 1-0 with one save. He has pitched 16.1 innings in 15 total appearances, allowing 10 earned runs (5.51 ERA) on 22 hits with three walks and 17 strikeouts.
"I'm not young like a lot of the guys," the 33-year-old said. "That's why I think the coaches are saving me until September so I can help them win games in the playoffs."
16 July 2298 - Hancocks Lambaste Red Rockets, 13-1

Quincy Eloquent earned the win to go to 12-5. He allowed 1 run on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 9 strikeouts in 8.1 innings of work. The victory gives Goodneighbor a record of 51-21.
In the bottom of the first, Jumper Hayes hit a 2-run home run. The 8th home run of the season for the Goodneighbor second baseman put the Hancocks on top, 2-0.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Hayes.

The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fifth when Pettinato, who is on pace for 69 RBI this season, hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Gunners into the lead, 9-7.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Pettinato said after the game.
Jeff "Baywatch" Fischler was outstanding for the Cats. He was 4 for 5 with a triple, a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI.

The Party Boys got a big at-bat from right fielder Tomas Jones. For the game, Jones went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Nordhagen Beach a 3-0 lead.

16 July 2298 - T-51s Need 10 to Do in Swatters
The Oberland T-51s picked up a win at Graygarden Park, taking down the Diamond City Swatters, 5-4, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher Lennie Landslide was a big reason why after allowing just one run in 6.0 innings. Aaron Still, credited with the win, is now 5-0. He allowed no runs on no hits. Oberland leads the South Charles Association Railroad League by 16 games.
The T-51s procured the win, in large part because of third baseman Jeremy Bugs. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Put a star next to this win," Bugs said.
The Swatters' Wally Warwick made the game more interesting in the top of the 8th when he hit a three-run bomb off Oberland reliever Matt Breakball to tie the game, 4-4.
