Walkers news: April 22 -- St. Louis 11, Springfield 3

Record: 11-4, 1st, 2.5 GA Kansas City
Down 3-0, St. Louis exploded for seven runs in the top of the fifth inning -- courtesy of three home runs -- and the River Walkers rolled on for an 11-3 win over Springfield at Oracle Park (2020).
Railers starter Edwin Cora had cruised through the first four innings, not allowing a run and just two hits.
The fifth didn't start too badly for him either, as after Jared Thomas led off with a single he retired the next two.
But after he uncorked a wild pitch on his second throw to Jose Ramirez, everything seemed to go south.
Four pitches later, on a 3-1 count, Ramirez cracked a two-run homer.
Thairo Estrada followed with a triple on a 3-2 pitch.
He scored when Jose Segura clobbered a 2-2 pitch, putting St. Louis in front 4-3.
Steve Rossi followed with a single. He scored when Jean Carmona powdered a ball over the wall in left as the Walkers lead grew to 6-3.
That was the end of Cora's outing.
The Walkers, however, were not done scoring.
Rick Scott greeted reliever Cristofe Tineo with a double.
He scored the inning's final run when Jared Thomas duplicated his double.
The other four St. Louis runs came in the seventh.
Scott hit his seventh homer of the season with a two-run shot off Jaden Foster.
Pitcher Lenyn Crisp later collected a pair of RBIs with a double to make it 11-3.
On the mound, Crisp (2-0) recovered nicely after allowing three runs over the first two innings.
He exited in the seventh, having allowed three runs on six hits.
Andres Hernandez finished off the seventh.
Ron Peterson and Zach Evers closed out the game with scoreless innings.
