GM Notebook - September 1, 2043
Thank goodness August is over. Losing 5 in a row to finish the month, yecht. We've falled to 3.5 back of the Buffaloes, and our cushion over the Hawks has shrunk to 5.5 games.
McAdam's played his way out of our squad, and is a non-tender/trade candidate this offseason. He deserves to start, but he's not going to get that chance in the stretch drive. He'll do it in AAA, maybe he can prove his worth. With Kimura back from rehab, Takeshta's back in a setup role and our bullpen looks that much better.
Speaking of proving his worth, holy smokes Teruhide Hirata. .352/.436/.682 with 8 HRs since joining the squad. He's inspiring some other offensive performances too - our first baseman Tomoki Yamauchi batted at a .373 clip with 8 dingers to win PL Batter of the Month. First time in a while we've taken that award home, and I can't wait to see if he can pick up the batting title while he's at it.
