I overlooked the trade of the first story because there was no news story. I have no idea why some trades do not generate a news story. So, let me go back through the time machine to 7 July 2298:
Casey Diehl was traded from the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys to the Roxbury Knuckle Punchers in exchange for C Omar Andrade and RF Maxx Murtaugh. He had been supplanted in the starting rotation by Derek Gist, who has developed over the course of the season to move from the bullpen to the starting lineup. Diehl had not started since Gist became the fourth pitcher on 26 June.
In 13 starts with Nordhagen Beach, Diehl was 7-1 with a 4.57 ERA. In 90.2 innings, he allowed 46 earned runs on 91 hits with 28 walks and 52 strikeouts.
Murtaugh was the 2nd round pick by the Party Boys in the 2296 Rookie Draft. He was traded to the Knuckle Punchers in July 2297 for 3B Buck Wheat and RP Jason Vaultick. Now he has been traded back to Nordhagen Beach. In 26 games in 2298 with 17 starts for Forest Grove, Murtaugh was 18 for 66 (.273) with two doubles, three triple, two home runs, 14 runs, and eight RBI.

21 July 2298 - BMU: Ex-Party Boy Diehl Pitches CG Shutout
The Forest Grove Mole Rats posted a 5-0 shutout over the Eastlake Aquaboys today on the strength of a strong performance by Casey Diehl. The Mole Rats pitcher held the Aquaboys to 3 hits while walking 3 and fanning 10 in the route-going win.
"It feels good to be wearing a Forest Grove Mole Rats uniform today," the right-hander said following the game. "This season has been a bit of a disappointment for me, so getting a start like this is definitely a pick-me-up."
Leadoff hitter Travis Dutton led the Mole Rats in offense. He was 3 for 4 in the game with his first home run of the season, two runs, and two RBI.
21 July 2298 - BMU: Robotics Experts Stay Hot, Beat Grognaks, 7-3
Galleria beat Malden on the strength of starter Punky Shaum's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. Shaum, the winner, moves to 6-6. He threw 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 7 walks. The first-place Robotics Experts have won 5 in a row.
Bill Hulk, who is tied for 3rd in the CA with a .367 batting average, aided the Galleria cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the first baseman went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times.
Hulk called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
21 July 2298 - BMU: Multi-HR Day for Eakle as Lifegivers Overpower Raybathers, 9-6
Behind the hitting of Chris Eakle, the Union Hope Lifegivers stopped the Mystic Pines Raybathers, 9-6. Eakle hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Lifegivers. Union Hope reliever Brad Chatter got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Roy Lach was tagged with the loss. The win elevated the Lifegivers to 30-25.
Eakle had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 slider from Roy Lach, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Lifegivers a 9-5 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Eakle.
"We take it day by day here," said Eakle, "and today was a good one for us."
21 July 2298 - BMU: Byrd, Robobrains Beat T-60s, 5-2
Harry Byrd led Mass Pike to a triumph over Fiddler's Green. The final score was 5-2. The second baseman went 4 for 5, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 3 runs and added 2 RBI. Joker Griffith converted his 16th save in 17 tries. The Robobrains raised their record to 26-29.
In the top of the third, with the game still scoreless, Byrd hit a run-scoring single to put his team in the lead.
Byrd called the win "a collective effort."
