That article says "A four-year deal for McCann would effectively bridge the gap for the Mets between now and when their
No. 2 prospect, Francisco Alvarez, is ready" which is a nice thought. Never a guarantee when talking about a 19-year-old in Rookie/A ball but something to hope for.
