Veteran power hitting first baseman Luis Gonzales entered the free agency market a few weeks ago but in the end he will be returning to the same club he played for in 1978, the Washington Night Train. In fact, although Gonzales did spend the 1977 season as a member of the Philadelphia Mud Hens, Washington was his first big league club and the only other team he has ever played for in the WPK.
The 32-year old, who was the SJL Rookie of the Year in 1970, is now signed with the Night Train through the 1983 season and he will be making $465,000 per year.
