15 August 2298 - Week's Top Player: Sunshine Tidings's Nukes
At the age of 26, Amari Nukes might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Sunshine Tidings left fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .650 batting average. For his efforts Nukes collected the North Charles Association Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 13 hits in 20 at-bats, 1 home run and 5 RBIs last week in 5 games.
This season Nukes is batting .394 with 17 home runs. He has scored 59 runs and driven in 74.
15 August 2298 - SCA Player of the Week Awarded
Robbie Adams has the tools to stick in this league for many years. The 21-year-old shortstop of the Quincy Gunners had a hot bat in the South Charles Association over the past seven days and won the Player of the Week honors.
Adams batted .550 with 11 hits in 20 at-bats, 1 home run and 7 RBIs.
Posting a .262 batting average to date, Adams has 9 home runs and 56 RBIs.
15 August 2298 - BMU: Bellingham Picked Best Player
It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Commonwealth Association, but last week Governor Bellingham of the Breakheart Banks Behemoths reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Bellingham rocked opposing pitching for a .545 average (6-for-11), 1 home run and 3 RBIs to come away with the award.
Presently Bellingham is batting .289 and has collected 8 home runs, 34 RBIs, .357 OBP and scored 26 runs.
15 August 2298 - BMU: MA's Best Player, Hughey of Trinity Plaza
So far in his young career, Bobby Hughey has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Massachusetts Association in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.
The 19-year-old Trinity Plaza Snipers center fielder hit at a torrid .636 clip as he collected 7 hits in 11 at-bats, 3 home runs, 4 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
Currently Hughey has 3 home runs and a .333 batting average.
