Very sad news. Not just the historical database guru - he was an OOTP
legend... I enjoyed batting around ideas with him in the historical beta group, helping each other out with testing, workarounds, prepping files, and whatever else... His ultra-dry wit, comically odd-ball references to squid, secret sauce, and other sometimes off-the-wall food items were often cause for a chuckle. I didn't get to know him outside of the OOTP boards and in emails, but I've no doubt that he was a genuine hoot in person.
