As Tinkerman mentioned, the drop off is still pretty steep. I looked at my division competition this morning and a couple of those teams in it have played in Diamond, but they were just quick trips of 1 season on occasion after enduring a beatdown there. Last time I was in Gold I won 122 games and that was without a few additional upgrades (such as FOTF Hornsby). I think it still will be at least another month or so before Gold finds itself playing at a higher level. I wouldn't have been relegated last week if I hadn't been in such a brutal division, but then again, I think the odds of me being in a division like that are occurring more frequently as teams get stronger.
I think we can break down the Perfect Team seasons in Diamond into two categories...
Pre-2050 Year Seasons
Post-2050 Year Seasons
I may be off plus or minus a couple seasons, but that is generally the dividing line when the Ultra-Buff Toppers of the FOTF collection were finding there way onto more teams and could only be had by completing all or a large swaths of the FOTF mission sets only (aside from purchasing from other on the AH).
Its pretty easy for me to tell when that came about just by looking at my Diamond league records around that time.
2049: 91-71
2050: 102-60 (made playoffs)
2051: 93-69
In the 8 seasons after that I was relegated twice, never broke 90 wins, and averaged 83 wins in the others.
