4 April 2299 - Howard Introduces CBO History Policies

CBO Commissioner Nate Howard announced today that the "official" start to the CBO and BMU will be considered 2298 when the four faction leagues merged into one league.

According to Howard, "We programmed our BNN system to count the statistics, records, etc. on a league designation. Therefore, for the sake of not having to hack our programming, we will consider only the beginning of the 2298 season for generating statistics, league records, service time, and any other factors that must be considered for the official CBO's start."

Statistics from 2296 and 2297 will still be kept on player cards, but those are separate statistics since the leagues were their own unique entities except for the postseason. CBO-based stats will be counted as the official stats, while the BL/IL/ML/RL stats will be considered for heavy lifting in overall career accomplishments.

(StLee's Note: If I had to do it all again, the leagues would have been merged from the start! Anyway, I am annoyed every time that there is a trade that I have to completely edit the story to reflect "2298" versus "career," so this story solves that BNN-generated story problem.)
