6 April 2299 - 20 Games in a Row for Koester
Concord lost to the Easy Town Assaultrons 6-2 at Nuka Park today, but Sean Koester kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 2 hits. The Radstags shortstop has now delivered hits in 20 straight games.
"Sean has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Concord manager Mark Gourdroot told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had."
Sean Koester walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.
6 April 2299 - Big Day by Wallcrawler Sparks 9-5 FHE Win
FHE shortstop Hose Wallcrawler played a vital role in his team's 9-5 triumph over Jamaica Plain. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for FHE. Dave Crowfoot collected save number 2. The win gives FHE a record of 2-1.
Noah Arch hit a run-scoring double off Ryan Hartley in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Yao Guai in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Arch had 2 singles, while going 3 for 5.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said FHE manager David Meatcook.
Chris Bullets also had a big day for the Yao Guai, going 2 for 3 with a double, a home run, a walk, two runs, and three RBI.
6 April 2299 - Silver Shroud Shut Out Four Leafs, 3-0
The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud picked up a win at Hubris Comics Park, knocking off the Finch Farm Four Leafs, 3-0. Starting pitcher Matt Hope was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Hope, now 1-0. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 10. The win has Fort Hagen at 2-1.
David Driftwood had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Fort Hagen. He came through with a solo home run to put Fort Hagen in front, 2-0.
Jim Tiller led the Silver Shroud in hitting, going 3 for 4 with a double, a home run, two runs, and an RBI. Mark Miller added three singles.
"Good to get a win," said Hope, "but it's a long season."
6 April 2299 - Party Boys Lose by a Run at Abernathy, 6-5
Abernathy Adamantium starter Joe Penaltybox pitched a strong game against the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys at Tato Field, leading the Adamantium to victory, 6-5. In 6.2 innings, Penaltybox surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 5 runs. T-Bone Heagy recorded the save for Abernathy, his 1st of the season.
Po Greenzone, the Abernathy left fielder, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 5-4, Adamantium. For the game, Greenzone went 1-2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs.
Penaltybox told the Abernathy Herald: "I was born for the big stage."
Nordhagen Beach drops to 1-2.
