Walkers news: Jan. 19 -- St. Louis lands RF Alex Greene in trade with Peoria
For the second day in a row, the St. Louis River Walkers have pulled a major deal, this time acquiring right fielder Alex Greene from the Peoria Rivermen, in exchange for AAA starting pitcher Lenyn Crisp and AAA center fielder Victor Solano.
Greene, 30, batted .265 with 21 homers and 74 RBIs in 157 games in 2031 for Peoria.
For his career, he is a .276 hitter with 102 homers and 332 RBIs in 763 games.
A right-hander, Crisp has had his moments while pitching in the majors for the Walkers but overall owns a 7-4 record and a 5.85 ERA in 18 starts.
In 2031, Crisp made 12 starts for St. Louis going 3-3 with a 7.00 ERA.
The rest of the season, he pitched for AAA Memphis, going 7-4 with a 3.16 ERA in 20 starts,
Solano is part of a group of outstanding center fielders the Walkers have i in their minor league system.
The 22-year-old finished the season at AAA, where he hit .315 with one homer and 15 RBIs in 37 games.
Before that, he played at Springfield, gettingn into 90 games where he hit .380 with two homers and 29 RBIs.
