I don't know if Quincy wishes they had this trade back for Ray Human and Danny Haircutter from 2296, but Combs has definitely emerged since last season. He was officially a rookie in 2297, but last season he finished .339/4/42 with a 3.5 WAR. In just 16 games this season, he already has a 1.3 WAR with a .446/1/15 line. His OBP is .507!!!
There was supposed to be a Lannie Tykeson story this week, but that story had to be tabled. As a hint, the story was about how he is already CBO-ready with his bat, and he was starting to look like he was CBO ready with his arm, too, since he is two-way player. However, he got shellacked by the Outpost Zimonja Strongbacks in a 14-6 loss where he gave up eight earned runs in 3.2 innings. In his first two starts, however, he gave up a total of one earned run in 12 innings. He's batting .433 on 13 for 30 with 12 of those 13 hits going for singles. He also doubled, scored seven times, and drove in four.
