4. Marston Nine
If it wasn't for a questionable relief corps, leaky defense (.973 FA) and a lack of longball power (95 HR), the Nine would be right up there with powerhouses Claxton and Rolling Hills... for sure Marston will be a test in the playoffs... they put up a sparkling .285 BA this season... 1 to 8 in the batting order the Nine has a quality bat, sparked by John Bobo, George Chizek, Harv Beauchamp and Wayne Prentiss... Marston also possesses some very capable starters, led by D. D. Klem, Tonico Ribiero, Galen Busby and Harry Vodenlich... how well the bullpen does will determine postseason success this year for the Nine... closer Mark Meriwether and long reliever Justin Boylan will be crucial... Marston could be a troublemaker in the playoffs... Sligo will find them to be a tougher opponent this year... the Rovers whipped the Nine 4 games to one in the first round last year... but the first three games were all in doubt and could have easily gone Marston's way.
