1993 Offseason
3/21/1993 - Trade 1B Pete O'Brien to the Montreal Expos for RF Kevin Northrup. This is a move primarily to get younger as O'Brien is 37 years old and Northrup is 23 years old.
Season Expectation:
-Reach the playoffs.
***Again, I find the expectation to be a little excessive, but I don't say that to the owner.
-Preseason Predictions: We are predicted to go 93-69 and win the division by 8 games, so that is promising at least. Griffey is projected to hit 47 HR and have a .302 average, and Randy Johnson and Erik Hanson are projected as the top 2 pitchers in the league.
-Top 100 Prospects: Seattle's top prospect is at #48, 21 year old C Raul Ibanez.
-4/6/93, On Opening Day, we lose 6-4 to the defending champion Toronto Blue Jays.
-We finish 9-14 in April, 4 games back of 12-9 Oakland. April's division leaders are Toronto(16-7), Oakland(12-9), Philadelphia(17-6) and San Francisco(17-7)
