Walkers news: May 4 -- St. Louis 4, Kansas City 3, 11 innings

Record: 16-11, 1st (Tied/w. Cedar Rapids, 0.5 GA Des Moines
Kansas City reliever Matt Broussard hit St. Louis' Nathaniel Dixon with the third pitch, an 0-2 count, of the top of the 11th inning and he came around to score on a Jose Segura single, as the River Walkers won 4-3 at Busch Stadium (1997).
A bunt from Felix Acevado moved Dixon to second.
Jose Ramirez followed with a single, which put him on third in position for when Segura connected for another single.
Down 3-2, although it had one led 1-0, St. Louis tied it in the bottom of the ninth.
Acevado led off with a double off Broussard and later scored on a Daniel Becerra double.
St. Louis starter Izzy San Juan worked the first three innings, allowing no runs on two hits, before leaving with an undisclosed injury.
The Walkers used six relievers after San Juan exited.
Ricky Cisneros pitched two scoreless innings.
Josh Grissom handled an inning, and allowed a run.
Yesion Santos, back from a stint on the injured list, pitched 0.2 innings.
Closer Ernesto Barbosa got an early call in the seventh but got burned by a two-run homer from Tony Martinez in the top of the eighth to put the Monarchs up 3-2.
Barbosa has allowed five homer runs this season after allowing just four in the 2031 season.
Nick Ruffalo picked up the slack with scoreless ninth and 10th innings.
Josh Forgy (3-1) did the same in the 11th to earn the win.
