I did glance at the list of references you found through Google. It appeared to me that most of them said that the ear could grow, which has nothing to do with changing the shape of either the profile or the characteristics within the ear. Some indicated that there could be a breakdown of the bone or other structures over time, but those appeared to be rare situations.
