With clarity of what you and cinemaodyssey had pointed out, now I understand the depth of the meaning with your original post... I apologized by jumping the gun in not getting the "whole" meaning of what you are conveying about: "the shape of the human ear does not change" - not relating to the length of the ear as we aged... Ditto!
