Preparing for a draft question: Control and Stamina
In preparing for an upcoming draft, I am evaluating players. Since starting pitchers are premium over relievers, is this a sensible thought?
"If a projected relief pitcher has a very high control rating, is good in other pitching potentials, and has three pitches, they could overcome having average stamina, as they are capable of throwing strikes to keep pitch counts low (maybe even be converted to a starter).
Same for the opposite--high stamina but lousy control means high pitch counts and the tendency for that pitcher to get tired much earlier, no matter how good their stuff and movement are."
Is that reasonable logic regarding control impacting stamina or should I factor in other ratings? Thanks.
