Yeison Santos recorded the first two outs of the eighth inning.
Josh Grissom recorded the final four outs for his first save.
The game's lone run came in the bottom of the seventh with Thunder starting pitcher Vinny Padilla still on the mound to start the inning.
He walked Nick Shaw to open the inning.
Nathaniel Dixon replaced Shaw as a pinch runner.
Jean Carmona followed with a single, moving Dixon to second.
Edwin Cervantes took over on the mound, and walked Matt Fulton to load the bases.,
Cervantes had to leave with a shoulder injury, bringing Nick Wood into the game.
Wood walked Fulton to drive in the lone run of the game.
