20 May 2299 - The Slog Roughed Up By Party Boys

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys beat the The Slog Ghouls, 9-2, at Tarberry Field Forever. The Party Boys got a fine performance from left fielder Michael Fogcrawler, who hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. The winner was Chet Arthur (4-1), who threw 97 pitches over 8.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 3 hits. With the win, Nordhagen Beach upped its record to 24-10 and put them two games up on The Slog.

In the top of the first of a scoreless game, Fogcrawler hit a 2-run home run to put his team ahead.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Fogcrawler.

Jonathan Angelou, Dustin Mart, and Mike Swift all had two hits apiece for Nordhagen Beach. One of Angelou's hits was a home run as back-to-back shot following Fogcrawler's first. Ryan Combs stole two bases to give him 13 on the year, two behind The Slog's C.T. Woodard for the lead.

Kyle Whale had two of the four Ghouls hits, all singles.

20 May 2299 - Toeclaw Helps Salem Cruise to 15-0 Win

The Salem Witch Hats bested the Finch Farm Four Leafs by a score of 15-0, with first baseman Antonio Toeclaw getting the main credit. On the day, Toeclaw was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He scored 4 times and drove in 4 for the Witch Hats. With the win over Finch Farm, the Witch Hats improved to 14-20.

The Witch Hats got an important contribution from left fielder Tyler Spronk, who in the top of the first knocked a 1-1 circle change into right for a grand slam home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Witch Hats ahead, 10-0.

"I wish every win came this easy," said Toeclaw.

Hats starter Ethan Lynch (1-5) pitched 8.2 innings of shutout ball before giving way to reliever Little Rat Swickard after throwing 131 pitches. Lynch walked two and struck out 14 while allowing three hits. His 14 strikeouts ties him for the second-best performance in official CBO statistics behind former teammate Mike Cartrette's 15 with Salem in April of 2298.

20 May 2299 - Starlight Beats Fort Hagen, 5-3

The Starlight Lady Killers topped the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud, 5-3, in North Charles Association action at Hubris Comics Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Starlight third baseman Hubris McBride. Earning his 9th save of the year was Larry Undertaker, with Chris Schneier (3-4) earning the victory. Starlight now has a record of 18-16 with the win to break up a four-game losing streak.

McBride had a key at-bat for Starlight early in the game. With the bases empty, he hit a solo home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and gave Starlight an early 1-0 lead. He finished 3 for 5 with two doubles, a home run, two runs, and two RBI.

McBride called the win "a collective effort."

Seven different players each had a hit for the Shroud. David Driftwood's RBI double in the 4th was their only extra-base hit. Brent Hooker (5-2) suffered the loss.

20 May 2299 - Swatters Win at Egret, 8-6

The Diamond City Swatters topped the Egret Ninjas by the score of 8-6, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Tyler Ross. Ross went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the Swatters. Burt Oldshoe earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Josh Samm picked up the save, his 18th.

The Swatters got a big at-bat from pitcher X10-44 Mannson. For the game, Mannson threw 4 innings allowing 2 runs. In the top of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 1st double of the season gave Diamond City a 5-2 lead. They later extended that lead to 8-2.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Ross said after the game.

The triumph puts Diamond City at 26-8 for the season, two games ahead of all other first-place teams in the CBO.
