21 May 2299 - Two No-Hitters Mark Game 30 for the NWL
On what we are starting to hope will be a historic day for the anemic offenses of the Nuka World League, two teams were held to no hits on the day.
Orange's Rob Thurston (3-0), who is a 1B/SP for the Victory, pitched the complete-game no-hitter and went 3 for 3 from the plate with a run scored. In nine innings, he walked one and struck out 10 in the 5-0 victory over the Grape Painted Ghouls.
In the other no-hitter, Paul Giunta of the Quartz Star Force pulled the complete-game no-hitter in a 3-0 victory at the Wild Gatorclaws. Giunta (2-4) walked two and struck out two on 102 pitches.
"Giunta pitched a great game," Wild manager Mark Wike said, "but let's be honest. Nobody on our team can ******* hit. They couldn't hit a basketball, much less a baseball."
