An FHM n00b's tactics question
I'm having huge trouble with defence on my team. I have what I would call a well balanced set of forwards and defencemen (a balance of offence and defence on forward lines, balanced D-pairings) but I can have games where I have 50 shots and score 4/5 goals but the opposition has 20 shots and scores 4/5 too.
This leads me to think that I need to get my offence to stop wasting so much offence with (probably) bad shots, so I tell them to pass more, but it doesnt seem to change much, just keep having massive shot numbers. (Now, seeing as I am playing as the Ducks, getting shots and scoring goals is actually fine with me. Blocked&Missed numbers are massive aswell, very annoying to see it all go to waste)
However, on Defence it seems like we are good at stopping the opponents from taking these bad shots but give up far too many "high quality" chances.
I know from searching that the common response to "tactics" is that everybody does something different, but I was more curious if anybody else had experienced this and if/how they made the situation better.
My major issue is that it makes John Gibson look like swiss cheese. His GAA and SV% is garbage but his W/L is good. I'm not looking for shutout after shutout, just some more realistic numbers from GAA and SV%
(also this season, after 3 solid years of very few injuries, my D keep getting injured, constantly, I carry 8 on the roster just in case now - any specific tactics that calm the injuries? probably stretching on that one)
