2299 - NWL - The Nuka Tour

The Nuka Tour

Your introduction to Nuka-World and Bradberton

by Evan Guy

29 May 2299 - Part 1: Safari Adventure

This story is lifted straight from a terminal. You can find it on the intranet at https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Safari_Adventure, slightly altered to fit StLee's universe

2060-2288: Don't Want No Twelve Monkeys

Safari Adventure was the area in Nuka-World, where the theme was centered around the safari and associated wildlife. When scientists attempted to clone the animals, an animal activist group known as the Animal Friends and Defenders kidnapped one of their top scientists, Dr. Hein, and held him hostage at the Angry Anaconda on the day of the Great War in an effort to put an end to the experiments. Only one person survived at the cloning facility, Dr. Darren McDermot.

After seeing scavengers in the park, McDermot worked to create a strong yet tameable species that would defend the facility, but created a violent subspecies of deathclaw, called the "gatorclaw" instead. McDermot was driven out of the facility as the cloning spiraled out of control, mass-producing gatorclaws and setting them loose into the park. This infestation has so far remained within the walls of Safari Adventure, but also prevented any settling, by traders or raiders, from taking place.

Eventually Nate Howard helped an inhabitant named Cito. Cito was the son of Marcos and Imelda, two scavengers who were killed by super mutants when he was still young. His father was killed quickly but his mother escaped long enough to write a note asking the reader to look after her son before she succumbed to her injuries. He wandered for a time, before coming to the Safari Adventure park at Nuka-World, and was then raised by the ghoulrillas there.

2288-2299: A Zoo for All the Wasteland Creatures

Following the purge of raiders, Nate and Cito did something different than just ridding Nuka-World and Bradberton of the deadly creatures throughout. They trapped them and put them on display in Safari Adventure.

Safari Adventure is made up of a few sections and features to adhere to their animal theme. Run by Cito and his animal-loving wife, Jane Porter, Safari Adventure has been a huge success in showing off the animals and creatures of the Commonwealth, at least the ones that Nate Howard and Cito have been able to wrestle back.

Welcome Center: The center is used to direct visitors to various locations in the park. The Welcome Center's entrance leads to a gallery overlooking the main room, with stairs leading down to the main floor on either side of it. The room's middle is occupied by desks and its walls are lined with displays of various smaller critters.

Safari Adventure Reptile House: The entrance to the reptile house opens in a foyer with two entrances to the main room. The doors leads into the main room, which consists of a large pool surrounded by a cage. A gatorclaw resides in the pool.

The eastern end of the main exhibit has a stairway leading to a lower area. A larger exhibit is on the northeastern wall. On the wall nearby is the reptile house tour guide terminal.

Safari Adventure Primate House: The primate house was part of the Safari Adventure attraction at Nuka-World, where visitors could see a number of primates. It housed at least four gorillas, which are all now natural ghoulrillas. Cito, a man who was raised by the now-irradiated ghoulrillas after his parents died, called this area home before meeting Jane Porter and wanted to protect his family of ghoulrillas from the monsters outside.

Cappy's Treehouse: Getting to the elevator to the treehouse requires passing through the hedge maze around the base of the structure. The treehouse itself is composed of two levels with an open elevator platform. The top level features a bar counter and a balcony. On the lower level, a park medallion dispenser can be found.

Jungle Journey Theater: The theater is a fairly open space consisting of stands and a broad stretch of dirt between them and the stage with some sparse decoration and props. Tourists can see controlled shows of various creatures, including Yao Guai, mole rats, and occasionally the ghoulrillas.

Angry Anaconda: This roller coaster was intended to be opened to the public in 2078, but was never completed due to the destruction of the United States in the Great War, just one year earlier in 2077. When the bombs fell, Dr. Hein was being held hostage by Chipmunk, Mouse, Rabbit, and Robin, members of the A.F.A.D. Both he and his captors were killed in the detonation.

In early 2298, the roller coaster was finally completed and serves as the largest thrill ride in all of Nuka-World.
