by Nat Wright-Kawolski

31 May 2299 - Roxbury Knuckle Punchers Ship Grogg to Diamond City

The players apparently knew they were on the trading block, so it did not surprise one of them when he learned that he had been traded to Roxbury. "Got my bags packed already," he said, when reached for comment. The Knuckle Punchers will receive 19-year-old minor league RHP Jake Jennings and 20-year-old minor league LF Terry Cookbook, while 30-year-old LHP Kyle Grogg will go to the Diamond City Swatters.

Grogg has taken the mound for 12 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 3-0 record with a 1.23 ERA. The reliever has limited opposing batters to a .157 batting average.

31 May 2299 - Finch Farm-Goodneighbor Trade: Pageturner for Kifer

A trade between Finch Farm and Goodneighbor was made official this morning. The Four Leafs have sent 32-year-old ace RHP Matt Pageturner to the Hancocks in exchange for 21-year-old minor league RHP Jesse Fraud, 20-year-old minor league LHP Nick Kifer and 19-year-old minor league CF Arthur Blondeale.

Thus far this season, Pageturner has tossed 75.2 innings in 11 starts, fanned 40 batters, walked 18 and put up a 3.81 ERA with 7 wins and 2 losses.

31 May 2299 - Rogers Pops Two Homers in 5-1 Win for Oberland

Ginger Rogers knocked in 4 runs to help Oberland beat Atom, 5-1. The right fielder collected 1 single, 1 double, and 2 home runs. Matt Udder, the winner, improved to 6-4. He held Atom to 1 run on 6 hits over 8.1 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Aaron Still earned the save for Oberland, his 11th of the year.

With Oberland leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Rogers hit a slider from Boss Gentleman for a solo home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the T-51s ahead, 3-1.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Rogers said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

With the win, Oberland upped its record to 24-18.

Oberland third baseman Jeremy Bugs went 0-for-3 today in Oberland's 5-1 triumph over the Atom Cats, snapping his 22-game hitting streak.

Bugs spoke to BNN after the game and said he "knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later."

"I just would have preferred later," he said with a laugh. "It was fun though."

When Bugs made an out in his last chance at the plate, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout. In the clubhouse after the game, he seemed unbothered by the streak ending.

"There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," Cats manager Paul Stands said of Bugs's streak. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."

This season in 42 games, Bugs has hit at a .367 clip with 65 hits, 7 home runs, 31 RBIs and 33 runs scored.

31 May 2299 - Silver Shroud Win at Easy Town, 4-1

Brent Hooker pitched a gem to lead Fort Hagen to victory over the Easy Town Assaultrons, 4-1. Curtis Thriceshot was credited with the save for Fort Hagen, his 9th of the season. With the win, Fort Hagen raised its record to 27-15.

Micah Morals provided a timely hit. The Fort Hagen third baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Silver Shroud on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Hooker.
