1 June 2299 - NWL's Top Hitter Named
When Myturtle Hrdlicka stepped up to the plate in May he did it with confidence, and today he was honored with the Nuka World League Batter of the Month award.
The young Quantum first baseman posted a .372 batting average with 6 home runs, 15 RBIs and scored 13 runs. Hrdlicka also worked pitchers for 14 walks to post a .454 on-base percentage.
This year Hrdlicka is batting .324 with 46 hits, 7 home runs, 19 RBIs, 17 walks, .396 OBP and has scored 16 runs.
1 June 2299 - Like Best NWL Starter in May
Ike Like was a long shot to make the Wild Gatorclaws this year, especially being a 32-year-old rookie. Now the Wild hurler has parlayed a 5-1 record into the Nuka World League Pitcher of the Month award.
In May, he chalked up 54 strikeouts in 51.1 innings and compiled a 0.70 ERA.
This season Like has fanned 75 in 67.2 innings and collected a 7-1 record with a 0.93 ERA.
