In their first start in the Silver league, Guidry and Walter Johnson both got shelled. Looking at their profiles, both of them only have one 90+ rated pitch. Should I be targeting SP with at least two 90+ rated pitches?
Pitch ratings are completely cosmetic in PT, so don't worry about that. Look for pitchers with balanced or reversed split profiles; lefty specialists like Guidry won't translate so well to the mound.

Look for control on pitchers, then movement, then stuff. You get disproportionate benefit to your BB% if you have high control, which is why people recommend it so often. There's a time and a place for stuff, and if they have control they can still be good. But in general, Greg Maddux-types are your friend.

Also, this is baseball. Don't overreact after a poor month. It doesnt mean you're doing anything wrong necessarily, although over multiple months you can start to see a trend sometimes.

The last thing you should really do sooner rather than later is customize your park factors. The strongest thing is to build your team around a set of park factors, but it's up to you how you use them (just know that neutral factors will never be optimal)
