3 June 2299 - BoS Counterstrikes Raider Base

A Brotherhood of Steel strikeforce penetrated the raider base called Blue Rock, killing or capturing all of its inhabitants. The raider boss of the base, a mean daughter-of-a-***** named Hatchet, was lost in the battle.

In all 16 raiders were killed and seven were captured. A spokesperson for the BoS said that the captured raiders would be interrogated for more information on the attack that killed seven inhabitants of Outpost Zimonja, including Strongbacks ballplayer Reggie Jones. Two more injured have since died, bringing the total to nine.

Strongbacks third baseman Jeff Luka is in critical but stable condition following an emergency surgery from a team of doctors after being transported via vertibird to Medford Memorial Hospital.

Also seriously injured but recovering in Outpost Zimonja's Brightsun Clinic was 1B Joe Provisioner. He has had a season of bad fortune. The worst of it was that he was just sent down to the Strongbacks on Thursday after having returned from injury with The Slog where he also started 28 games at 1B. On that day, he had a good premier game, going 2 for 5 with a run scored before being shot three times, twice in his right leg and once in his side.

Settlers, volunteers, Minutemen, and BoS members are all working to repair the damaged wall, as well as improving infrastructure to make the fortifications more resilient to smaller explosives like frag grenades and missiles. Extra supplies have also been sent via Wicked Shipping's working rig. Those arrived early this morning.

The Strongbacks' team will continue to help with what needs to be done in Outpost Zimonja, but they are expected to travel to College Square on Tuesday for the series that has been delayed to Thursday, June 8.

3 June 2299 - Lacy Excels, But Dwellers Win

The Vault 81 Dwellers had to overcome a big game from Diamond City right fielder Wayne Lacy to leave CURIE Inc. Field with a victory. And they did, winning 5-4. Lacy hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Edwin Mass got the win, improving to 3-6. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Vault 81 has now won 3 in a row.

Making an impact for the home team was Chris Van Benschoten. In the bottom of the fifth, the 21-year old left fielder had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 5-2, Dwellers.

"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Vault 81 manager Jason Personhood said afterward.

3 June 2299 - Party Boys Win, 4-0, at Finch Farm

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys picked up a win at Finch Family Park, knocking off the Finch Farm Four Leafs, 4-0. On the mound for Nordhagen Beach was right-hander Aaron Demps, who played a pivotal role in the win. Demps got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Demps allowed no runs. Nordhagen Beach now has a 3-game win streak.

The Four Leafs had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Party Boys going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old right fielder Jonathan Angelou came to the plate. Angelou hit a run-scoring triple on a 1-1 splitter from Finch Farm hurler Chad Behr. It was Angelou's 2nd triple of the year.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Demps said after the game.

3 June 2299 - 3-2 Loss to Ninjas Extends Roxbury Losing Streak

The Egret Ninjas picked up a win at Fallon Field at Egret Tours Marina, taking down the Roxbury Knuckle Punchers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Nick Poppa was a big reason why. Andy Helium closed the door for Egret, picking up his 11th save of the year. This loss makes it 8 in a row for Roxbury.

Poppa (3-6) allowed two runs on two hits with two walks and six strikeouts in 8.0 innings.

Crops Gerdenheimer, who is tied for 6th in the SCA in bases on balls with 22, chipped in for Egret with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh to break a 2-2 tie. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.

"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Gerdenheimer.

3 June 2299 - Synths Top Silver Shroud to Even Record

Lexington starter Greg Mardis pitched well against the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud at Hubris Comics Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-3. Lexington now has a record of 22-22 with the win.

Jeffrey Curatolo helped out the Lexington cause in the top of the second inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the first baseman went 2 for 4 with a triple.

Lexington 2B Pat Cambridge led all hitters, going 3 for 4 with a triple--one of three for the Synths--two runs and an RBI.

"Greg just went about his business, throwing strikes," said Lexington manager Sprole Races.

Andrew Nuka led the Shroud with a 2 for 3 performance with a run and an RBI. His RBI was a sacrifice fly. Matt Hope (6-2) suffered the loss.
