SEASON PREVIEW: METROPOLITAN LEAGUE

The big question this year is whether anyone can stop the Old Westminsters from winning a third successive championship, and many believe that Angel Islington could be the team to do it. Certainly they will be very strong, especially their batting which looks the best in the league. Clapham's pitching will make them contenders again after finishing as runners-up last year, meaning that the Westminsters could have a tough task to win another title.

Poor pitching is likely to prevent The Regent's Park from challenging this year, while the City of London Club will undoubtedly be stronger with County Championship winner William Rood pitching for them. That leaves Kensington looking certain to finish last this year, as they look to be the weakest team on both sides of the game.
