I couldn't find much about aging speed in the ootp forums, at least not for recent versions. There is this: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...d.php?t=320091

Here is a Reddit from three years ago discussing it: https://www.reddit.com/r/OOTP/commen...z/aging_speed/

I actually have my numbers high (1.250) for each because I want most players to be "done" early due to the wasteland's unhealthy environment.
Ah, that's actually quite illuminating, even though it's actually not that much info! I have a very strong natural inclination to leave settings alone, it didn't actually occur to me that that the default setting might not be ideal by consensus. Granted, part of the reason I've really gotten into this game is all the settings that are changable, it's a very well designed game in that regard, so I suppose the other view is I'm not getting the full bang for my buck if I don't start messing with these things

Setting on faster aging for Fallout makes perfect sense. I keep thinking too how early on it was said most of these guys are technically part-timers as the settlements can actually use their help with day-to-day tasks around the wasteland, but oh boy, with such a packed schedule, there's probably not much time for that. I don't mind suspending my disbelief though. Everyone in the Wasteland is probably just really used to working super hard for survival. Probably contributes to wearing out early too, like your changed simulation setting would suggest.

Since we're on the subject of "under the hood" aspects, another question if I may derail for a bit longer? Do you upgrade game version every year? It's about that time, I suppose, with 22 coming out soon, and I was wondering how easy it was to transfer existing saves up to the new version for running dynasties or just normal save files, or if it was even worth it. Given that that feature is one of the big reasons I'm holding up OOTP as a better game than FM I'm most curious as to your perspective.
