7 June 2299 - Abernathy Adamantium Ship Greenzone to FHE

The Abernathy Adamantium have released a statement confirming the trade of 19-year-old minor league LF Po Greenzone to the FHE Yao Guai for 22-year-old minor league RHP Andy Watsname and a 4th round draft pick. The deal was finalized today.

Greenzone has collected 12 hits for the Adamantium this year, 0 of them home runs, in 17 starts. He has also netted 11 RBIs and scored 7 runs while batting .222. In 2296, he led The Slog and the Brotherhood League in home runs with 25. Last season, he hit 26 home runs to lead Abernathy. He was recently sent down to Bunker Hill due to his offensive struggles.

7 June 2999 - Goodneighbor Hancocks Ship Rocky to Starlight

The Baseball News Network is reporting that the Hancocks and Lady Killers have consummated a trade. Starlight will receive 35-year-old RHP Steve Rocky in a swap for 23-year-old minor league 1B Mike Pushard and a 4th round draft pick. A league analyst called the trade a "fairly even transaction."

Rocky has made 10 starts this season, posting 6 wins and 1 loss. Opposing clubs are batting .240 against him and he has 43 strikeouts in 63.1 innings with a 3.69 ERA.

7 June 2299 - BMU: 6-Hit Blitz by Gourd

6 times is the charm -- at least for Rocky Gourd in his debut with Forest Grove after being demoted for the first time in his career. Originally selected by the Nordhagen Beach Pary Boys in the 16th round of the 2296 Inaugural Draft, Gourd has recently fallen on hard times with the Roxbury Knuckle Punchers.

The Forest Grove Mole Rats left fielder tore up the Postal Square Action Boys to the tune of 6 hits in 6 at-bats at Shamrock Taphouse Stadium of the Square today. The offensive onslaught from Gourd powered the Mole Rats to a 21-12 win.

"Gourd was a tough out today," Postal Square manager Juice Becker said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."

Rocky Gourd hit an RBI double in the 1st, doubled again in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

CF Tevin McPhail was 3 for 3 with a double, a record-tying four walks, a record-setting five runs, and three RBI. Chris Connexx was 4 for 5 with a double, a home run, two walks, four runs, and six RBI.

Game notes: CF Kyle Clawgnaw was injured being hit by a pitch. Rocky Gourd ties the MA regular season game record for hits with 5. Tevin MacPhail ties the MA regular season game record for bases on balls with 4. Rocky Gourd sets the MA regular season game record for hits with 6. Tevin MacPhail ties the MA regular season game record for runs with 4. Tevin MacPhail sets the MA regular season game record for runs with 5.

7 June 2299 - Gunkill Goes 5-for-5

It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Steve Gunkill today. Gunkill went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off FHE pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at BosCom Circle, he had a 5-for-5 line and a day he will long remember. And the Quincy Gunners had a 4-0 victory over the Yao Guai.

"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. "Seriously, I finally feel at home with Quincy. It's my fourth team but my favorite. I can go up to the plate with confidence here."

Steve Gunkill hit a two-run home run off Papa Bush in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Gunkill on the season is hitting .385 with 8 home runs. His stats include 34 RBIs and 44 runs scored.

7 June 2299 - Eloquent Now 8-2 After Subduing Dwellers

Goodneighbor and Vault 81 duked it out and the Hancocks came out victorious.

Goodneighbor got a first-rate effort from pitcher Quincy Eloquent, who frustrated Vault 81 hitters en route to a 3-0 Hancocks triumph at CURIE Inc. Field. Bus Paula nailed down his 12th save.

Eloquent, now 8-2, scattered 4 hits over 8.1 innings for the Hancocks.

"Quincy was throwing free and easy," said Goodneighbor manager Jeremy Whiteplate.

The win elevated the Hancocks to 33-14.

7 June 2299 - Penaltybox Lifts Adamantium to Win

Abernathy rode a fine outing from starter Joe Penaltybox to victory over the The Slog Ghouls at Tarberry Field Forever. The final score was 7-1. Abernathy has now won 3 in a row.

Penaltybox gave Abernathy a solid start. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 7 hits over 9 innings.

Penaltybox told a Abernathy Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.

7 June 2299 - Starlight Wins, 8-5

The Starlight Lady Killers topped the County Crossing Bloodbugs, 8-5, in North Charles Association action at Beantown Brewery Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Starlight first baseman Zeldolph Violet. With the win, Starlight upped its record to 24-23.

Violet had a clutch at-bat in the top of the sixth for the Lady Killers. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Starlight trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single.

"We came out aggressive," said Lady Killers manager Eric Bendure. "We came out swinging the bats."

Injuries are something every team has to deal with. That fact struck home for the Lady Killers when after today's game against the Bloodbugs, the club found out they would be without the services of Ricky Six Pack for at least 4 weeks. After the game, his manager said of the incident, "You hate to lose anyone to injury. That's always a negative." Six Pack was injured earlier today throwing a pitch and suffered a sprained ankle.

Six Pack has gone to the hill for 8 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 1-0 record with a 4.15 ERA. The Starlight reliever has limited opposing batters to a .250 batting average.

7 June 2299 - Silver Shroud Knock Off Party Boys, 4-1

The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud picked up a win at Hubris Comics Park, taking down the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, 4-1. Starting pitcher Derek Green was a big reason why. Curtis Thriceshot picked up the save, his 10th. The victory gives Fort Hagen a record of 30-17.

The Silver Shroud picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

"I had everything working," said Green.

Ben Pawlak was 2 for 3 with two RBI. Jim Tiller scored twice.

Jon Hitman had three hits for the Party Boys with a double and an RBI. His double was the Boys' only extra-base hit. Derek Gist dropped to 7-2 with the loss.

7 June 2299 - Swatters Win, 2-0, at Warwick

Diamond City starter Tyler Powers put a stranglehold on the Warwick offense. The right-hander (6-2) had complete command of his cutter in 8.0 innings in leading the Swatters to a 2-0 win. Josh Samm picked up his 22nd save. Diamond City now has a record of 34-13 with the win.

It could have been a different outcome for Diamond City, had it not been for Tyler Ross, the 21-year old left fielder. Ross contributed a solo home run in the top of the first inning to put Diamond City up, 1-0.

Powers called the triumph "a good team win."
