30 June 2299 - BMU: Home Run Challenge
One day before the All-Star Game, the best power hitters of the BMU squared off in a winner-take-all Home Run Derby.
Bubbles Fleeker and Kern Rifleman put on quite the show at Cabot House Square, home of the BMU's Rayguns (Atom Cats) during the 2299 Home Run Challenge. Outpost Zimonja Strongbacks first baseman Fleeker ended up victorious after a final round score of 18-14.
Fleeker is currently tied with three other players--Phil Harmon, David Lockpick, and Casey Roux--for second in the BMU in home runs. The top home run hitter, Hunter Wilde, was not eligible because he is currently playing with County Crossing. Harmon was also not eligible because he is currently with Oberland. Lockpick was traded to the Orange Tourists of the Nuka World League.
"I was pretty nervous tonight, but hearing the crowd's reaction to my first homer calmed me down and I got in a nice groove," said Fleeker.
