1 July 2299 - NWL to Receive Two CBO Players
We are not allowed to release the names until after the CBO has officially reported it, but two NWL franchises will be sporting new aces after this weekend.
Reports are that Warwick and Easy Town both came hunting for prospects while giving up on some of their older players.
Word is that Victory sent two position players to the rail station to the Boston Commonwealth, while the Dark Bloodworms sent an outfielder and a pitcher to the same train station. We will be able to fully report about the trades on Monday and hope to see more.
1 July 2299 - NWL's Top Hitter Announced
Ham Porter has a lot going for him. The Grape first baseman just broke into the majors this year and now the Nuka World League has just picked him as its top hitter for June.
In 24 games last month this outstanding rookie batted .320 with 6 home runs, 8 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
For the season Porter is hitting .271, batted in 18 runs with 10 home runs and 31 runs scored.
1 July 2299 - Crash Earns NWL Top Pitcher Trophy
Laurence Crash was on cloud nine the entire month of June, capping it off with the Nuka World League Pitcher of the Month honors.
The Quartz starter was spectacular in 6 starting assignments with 5 wins and 1 loss, 48 innings pitched, 62 strikeouts and a fine 1.13 ERA.
This season-to-date Crash has 9 wins and 3 losses and a 1.03 ERA.
1 July 2299 - Newcomer of the Month Picked
Few players his age have the consistency to put a solid month together, but Cherry's Justin Hodges carved up the opposition all June long and hauled off the Nuka World League Rookie of the Month award today as a result.
He sizzled last month with a 4-0 mark, fanning 55 in 47.2 innings with an ERA of 2.45 in 6 starts.
To date this season, Hodges has a record of 9 wins and 3 losses and a 1.61 ERA. He has appeared in 17 games and struck out 133 in 123.1 innings.
