2 July 2299 - Finch Farm-Dark Trade: Salvage for LeBlanc
Finch Farm and Dark have agreed to a trade today. 36-year-old minor league 1B Justin Salvage will go to the Bloodworms. In exchange the Four Leafs will receive 21-year-old RHP Tim LeBlanc, 22-year-old RHP Ratmeat Perkins and 21-year-old RHP Ryan Morrisette.
2 July 2299 - Danse Excels, But T-51s Win
Egret left fielder Paladin Danse had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Danse slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5, even as Oberland beat the Ninjas, 9-6. Matt Udder picked up the win, improving his season record to 9-5. He struck out 3 in 6 innings. With the win, Oberland raised its record to 36-29.
Prof Castillo helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 4-0, T-51s.
Castillo told an Oberland Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
2 July 2299 - Masterson Helps Nordhagen Beach Cruise to 11-3 Win
Behind a solid performance from second baseman Brian Masterson, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys defeated the Easy Town Assaultrons, 11-3. Masterson went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for the Party Boys. The Party Boys lead the North Charles Association Brotherhood League by 11 games.
In the top of the first, with the game still scoreless, Masterson hit a run-scoring single to put his team in the lead.
"I still think this team can play even better," Masterson told the Nordhagen Beach News.
2 July 2299 - Higinbotham, Lady Killers Beat Adamantium, 8-1
The home crowd had a good time watching the Abernathy Adamantium and Starlight Lady Killers get after it.
The Starlight Lady Killers downed the Abernathy Adamantium, 8-1, at Valentine Detective Agency Field. The Lady Killers were led by Glenn Higinbotham. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 4 times and driving in 2. Starlight starter City Moore was credited with the win after throwing 128 pitches over 8.2 innings. His record now stands at 7-8.
The Lady Killers picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"Feels good to get the job done," Higinbotham said after the game.
The victory gives Starlight a record of 36-29 and places them in sole possession of second place in the Institute Language.
2 July 2299 - Thompson, Chemists Too Much for Silver Shroud
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
In the 8-4 Sunshine Tidings win over Fort Hagen, the impact of Cy Thompson was substantial. Thompson, who is the top prospect in the Chemists organization, went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The winning pitcher was Dusty Lynne. His record is now 5-6. The left-hander went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits for the Chemists.
Early in the game, Thompson had a 2-run home run for Sunshine Tidings. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Chemists on top, 2-1.
"Winning never gets dull," said Thompson.
With the win, the Chemists have a record of 27-38.
The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud fell to the Sunshine Tidings Chemists in Hubris Comics Park today, even as 21-year-old shortstop Well Done Dungan upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Dungan finished with 2 hits in 5 at-bats, but could not stop the Silver Shroud from dropping the 8-4 decision.
"Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Dungan.
Well Done Dungan flied out in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, and singled in the 8th.
Dungan is hitting .335 in 2299 with 28 RBIs and no home runs.
2 July 2299 - Diamond City Gets 4-3 Win
The Diamond City Swatters downed the Roxbury Knuckle Punchers, 4-3, at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury. Witcher Craft led the way, going 3-for-4 for Diamond City. The winning pitcher was Tim Fusion. He tossed 78 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. Josh Samm was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 29 of 30 save opportunities.
Alex Slumpbuster, the 29-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Slumpbuster contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Diamond City up, 4-3.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Roxbury manager Turbo Peabody.
Diamond City raised its record to 46-19 with the win.
2 July 2299 - 15-K Game for Ghouls Dozier
In a performance to behold, Dan Dozier was masterful today in the The Slog Ghouls 8-0 victory over the Finch Farm Four Leafs. He had them batting the breeze most of the day. In a strong outing, Dozier registered 15 strikeouts in the ballgame, gave up 5 hits and 2 walks. His 15 strikeouts tie the CBO record.
To date this year in 17 starts, Dozier has crafted a 6-6 mark with a 4.36 ERA.
