3 July 2299 - Heinzerling Wins CA Player of the Week Prize
At the age of 28, John Heinzerling might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Mystic Pines right fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .500 batting average. For his efforts Heinzerling collected the Commonwealth Association Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 8 hits in 16 at-bats, 3 home runs and 9 RBIs last week in 4 games.
Currently Heinzerling is batting .407 with 6 home runs, 25 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
3 July 2299 - Vertz Wins MA Player of the Week Honors
It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Massachusetts Association, but last week Justin Vertz of the Cabot House Rayguns reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Vertz rocked opposing pitching for a .667 average (8-for-12), no home runs and 4 RBIs to come away with the award.
In his season totals, Vertz has 4 home runs, .313 BA, .367 OBP, 23 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has played in 41 games.
