Zack Hunsicker starred on the mound and at the plate as the St. Louis River Walkers routed Quad City 10-1 at Busch Stadium (1997).
On the mound, Hunsicker (8-6) allowed one run on three hits over the first seven innings.
The right-hander struck out nine and walked one.
At the plate, Hunsicker was 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs.
St. Louis broke the game open early with a five-run bottom of the first inning.
Two batters in, it already was 2-0 as after Jean Carmona opened the inning by reaching on an error by Thunder third baseman Paul Totten, Jose Ramirez crushed a 2-2 pitch from QC starting pitcher Pascal Marcovicci 450 feet into the batter's eye in center.
The Walkers added three more runs before the inning was over.
Nick Shaw plated the first one with a single.
Hunsicker took care of the other two with a two-out single.
Shaw collected his second RBI of the game in the third with another run-scoring single off Marcovicci.
St. Louis hit a pair of homers off reliever Scott Reeves in the fifth to go up 9-0.
Peter Ahn, back in the majors for the first time since 2030, hit a solo homer.
After a walk to Matt Fulton, Hunsicker cracked his second homer of the the season, a two-run shot.
Nick Ruffalo pitched a scoreless eighth for the Walkers.
Andres Hernandez did the same in the ninth, despite allowing a pair of hits.
