Walkers news: August 30 -- St. Louis 3, Green Bay 1

Record: 77-52, 2nd, 3 GB Des Moines
Rookie Xavier Wigfall allowed one run over the first seven innings to help St. Louis down Green Bay 3-1 at Busch Stadium (1997).
Wigfall (3-2) allowed just two hits in his time on the mound -- one of them a solo homer to Ozzie Albies in the first inning which put the Mallards up 1-0 -- while striking out seven and not issuing a walk.
The River Walkers took the lead in the bottom of the fourth courtesy of a two-run homer from Jose Ramirez off Green Bay starter Ben Hughes.
St. Louis picked up an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth.
Jean Carmona scored the run after a one-out single off reliever Justin Doughtie.
A wild pickoff throw moved Carmona to second.
He scored on a two-out single by Jose Segura.
Ricky Cisneros took the mound to start the eighth for the Walkers, and retired the first two batters he faced before allowing a two-out double to Zarek Mackowiak.
Cory Tiller took over and got Drew Ellis to fly out to end the inning.
Tiller allowed a two-out single to Albies in the ninth, but nothing else to earn his third save.
