7 July 2299 - Eloquent Takes Charge, Blanks Atom, 7-0

Quincy Eloquent kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Goodneighbor Hancocks were all smiles after winning 7-0 against the Atom Cats at Coolest Field in Town today. The left-handed Eloquent gave up no runs in his start, permitted 7 hits and had 5 strikeouts.

"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Eloquent said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."

In 19 starts this season Eloquent has rung up a 12-4 record and a 3.75 ERA.

7 July 2299 - Gary Lifts Four Leafs to 16-6 Triumph

Gary Gary Gary was a major contributor to the 16-6 Finch Farm win over Salem. The Four Leafs catcher was 4 for 5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2. Blaine Phrasemaker was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. The victory puts Finch Farm at 26-40.

Lux Schwartz had a big hit for Finch Farm in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Finch Farm leading 8-1, Schwartz hit a bases-clearing double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Four Leafs up, 11-1.

"We got the victory," said Schwartz. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

7 July 2299 - Wallcrawler Excels, But Knuckle Punchers Win

The Roxbury Knuckle Punchers defeated the FHE Yao Guai, 9-6. Doing his part was shortstop Hose Wallcrawler, who was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Jimmy "Peanut" Carty came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The Knuckle Punchers raised their record to 26-40.

Early in the game, first baseman Matt Ratican had a 2-run double for Roxbury. It was his 24th double of the season and put the Knuckle Punchers on top, 2-1.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Ratican.

Po Greenzone of the FHE Yao Guai and Tyler Shuster of the Roxbury Knuckle Punchers will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 2 and 5 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Yao Guai-Knuckle Punchers game at BosCom Circle.

Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Greenzone and Shuster will begin serving them soon.

Greenzone is hitting .220 in 2299 with 19 RBIs and 3 home runs.

In 17 starts this season Shuster has registered a 4-9 record and a 5.77 ERA.

7 July 2299 - Waples Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Abernathy in Walk-Off Win

The Adamantium faced a stiff challenge from Concord pitcher Chris Radsco, but persevered to claim a win at Tato Field. The final score was 2-1. Radsco went 7.1 innings and allowed no runs. Abernathy pitcher T-Bone Heagy got the win, upping his record to 7-3. Bell Franklin got the loss. Concord has now lost 4 consecutive games.

In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 1-1, second baseman Jim Waples won it for Abernathy. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Waples hit a 1-0 changeup from Bell Franklin for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 2-1 win.

"We played a good game and came out on top," said Waples.

7 July 2299 - Lady Killers Raise Rally Flag, Beat Fort Hagen, 5-3

The Starlight Lady Killers had to overcome a fine effort from Fort Hagen pitcher Mike Cartrette to grab a narrow 5-3 win at Hubris Comics Park. Cartrette went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was Starlight reliever Spider Caddell, now 3-1. The loser was Matt Demented. Larry Undertaker was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 19 of 22 save opportunities.

Starlight used a clutch hit from David Seaweed to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Lady Killers ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I like our moxie," said Lady Killers manager Eric Bendure.

With the win, Starlight pushed its record to 37-29.

7 July 2299 - Party Boys Go Down to Defeat, 7-4

The Slog right-hander Bobby DeLaune pitched his team to victory over the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys at Tarberry Field Forever. The final score was 7-4. The triumph puts The Slog at 34-32 for the season.

The Slog took a 7-4 lead on Terry O'Dell's 8th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which O'Dell hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Nordhagen Beach pitcher Night Demon Archacki visibly frustrated.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said O'Dell.

7 July 2299 - Ninjas Post 3-2 Win Over Diamond City

The Egret Ninjas got a stellar performance from pitcher Phlip Wallace, who handcuffed the Diamond City offense en route to a win, 3-2, at The Great Green Jewel. With the win, the Ninjas improved to 31-35.

Egret used the bat of Paladin Danse to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Ninjas ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage. Crops Gerdenheimer hit his 10th for Egret for their first run.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Diamond City manager Bucky Bachelor. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."

Wally Warwick, freshly returned from injury thanks to a stimpack, was 3 for 4 with a triple, a home run (7), two runs, and an RBI.
