Walkers news: Sept. 3 -- OF Thompson and RHP Baker added to St. Louis roster
With the Memphis Redbirds being eliminated from playoff contention with a 4-3 loss to Round Rock, the St. Louis River Walkers have added outfielder Ben Thompson and right-handed relief pitcher Kevin Baker to their roster for the final month of the season.
Both players have spent time in the majors earlier in the season.
Thompson, 22, started the campaign with the Walkers, but struggled hitting just .185 with one homer and two RBIs in seven games.
At Memphis, Thompson hit .243 in 122 games with 22 homers and 63 RBIs.
Baker, 25, pitched in 12 games for the Walkers, going 1-1 with 1 save and a 4.35 ERA.
At Memphis, the righty pitched in 32 games and went 5-4 with nine saves and a 3.40 ERA.
