2299 - Week 14 - The Week in Review, Part 1

Analysis

Nordhagen Beach returns to the top spot in this short week due to the All-Star break with only three games played per team. The Party Boys took care of business in a road visit to #13 The Slog, taking two of three in the series. It is strange to state, but the Party Boys have slugged themselves to a .721 winning percentage in what seems like quiet success. They have just consistently won throughout the season, having lost only one series all season, a May 5-7 trip to Finch Farm (#19). That means the Boys have won 11 of 12 Brotherhood League series and never got swept in an interleague series against Institute League teams. Sure, they split several (9 of their 16 series), but they also swept seven of those. The only team that has challenged the Boys in 2299 has been #4 Fort Hagen (3-3 season record), splitting all three series with them.

Diamond City (#2) also jumped over Goodneighbor (#3) in the Top 5. This is another case of it seeming BNN moved teams just to have something to do and give us something to write about. The Swatters won 2 of 3 at #24 Roxbury, which in and of itself is not impressive against a struggling team. In the same weekend, the Hancocks took 2 of 3 at home against #10 Quincy. Whatever.

We will feature the Institute League this week, and they have the next three teams in the Power Rankings: #4 Fort Hagen, #5 Lexington, and #6 Starlight. This is the best league in baseball, so we hope that remains for the last eight weeks of the season. Please see Part 2 for our IL feature.

As mentioned above, the Knuckle Punchers now possess the last position in the Power Rankings despite a decent showing against the Swatters. They are just one position behind Sunshine Tidings, who was the only team to get swept over the weekend, losing all three against the Synths. Both teams dropped several spots in the Power Rankings, which again seems like BNN was moving teams just to move them, at least for the Punchers. Easy Town (#20) jumped out of last in the rankings thanks to taking the series at the County Crossing Bloodbugs (#22).
