Forgot to the do this post before the playoffs started since I lumped the regular-season tiebreaker into the previous post. The final standings and leaders:
The final Rays team stats:
Just about perfection, with the only blemishes being 2nd in baserunning (we had an inordinate # of guys thrown out on the basepaths which had to be it), and of course the defensive #s (BABIP, Efficiency, Zone Rating). Our DE was actually pretty good but way out of whack with our zone rating. And I'm especially pleased to see the team ERA coming in under 3, an almost unheard-of accomplishment in this day and age.
The final offensive stats:
I wonder how many teams in history can boast 5 players with 6+ WAR? Or 12 players with at least 13 HR?
And the final pitching stats:
What a rotation, what a bullpen, and Brad Ballmann with his final-day 3 shutout innings even got his WAR into positive territory, meaning we had nobody negative.
