Newspapers in The Slog and Concord reported that the Ghouls have reached a deal sending 22-year-old LF Pockets Aintfull* and 20-year-old minor league LHP Smelly Schmelzer to the Radstags for 30-year-old RHP Gwinnett Southie and 20-year-old C Shawn Cherry.

Aintfull is currently batting .274 with no home runs and 7 RBIs.

This season Southie has fanned 77 in 133 innings and collected a 7-8 record with a 4.53 ERA.

26 July 2299 - Nuka goes 3-for-4, Leads Silver Shroud to Win

Fort Hagen left fielder Andrew Nuka made his presence felt in the 9-5 Silver Shroud triumph over the Salem Witch Hats. Nuka was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. The winner was Brent Hooker, who threw 123 pitches over 8 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 11 hits. Fort Hagen improves to 52-28 with the win. They lead their division by 7 games.

Nuka contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Fort Hagen in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Nuka took a slider from Terrence Artman and stroked the home run to center. His 19th home run of the season allowed the Silver Shroud to leap in front, 3-2.

"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Nuka.

26 July 2299 - Sarnacki Sizzles, The Slog Fizzles

Bill Sarnacki was throwing strikes early and getting ahead in the count, his manager said after the Sunshine Tidings Chemists hurler tossed a 3-hit, complete game shutout against the The Slog Ghouls.

"I went right after each hitter, trying to get ahead in the count," said Sarnacki. "I wanted them to swing the bats and keep my pitch count down. It worked. I felt strong the whole game, even in the last two innings."

Sarnacki walked 0 and struck out 6 in the 3-0 victory.

In season stats Sarnacki shows a 6-11 record in 20 games, 130.1 innings, 113 strikeouts and a 5.11 ERA.

26 July 2299 - Rose Helps Hancocks Beat Knuckle Punchers, 12-6

Goodneighbor took on Roxbury in front of a lively crowd.

John Rose impressed in the 12-6 Goodneighbor win over Roxbury. Rose, who finished 5th in the SCA in wins above replacement with 5.5 last year, was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The victory gives Goodneighbor a record of 55-25.

Goodneighbor used a well-timed hit by Burtie Cuttooth to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Hancocks ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We played hard and won," said Rose. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy."

26 July 2299 - With 5-2 Win, Synths Improve to 44-36

Lexington rode a decent outing from starter Lawdog Whipple to victory over the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys. The final score was 5-2. Lexington has now won 4 in a row.

In the top of the ninth, Ryan Combs stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Party Boys were trailing 5-2, but had the bases loaded. That's when Adam Bias made a terrific pitch and Combs grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Nordhagen Beach comeback.

26 July 2299 - Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Swatters

Diamond City Swatters starter Tyler Powers was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Atom Cats, 5-1. Powers picked up the win for Diamond City, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 11-3. Diamond City, at 54-26, is 12 games up in the South Charles Association Railroad League.

Diamond City used the clutch hitting of Wayne Lacy to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Swatters ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Powers said.
