I'm in favor of capping contracts at 5 years but also letting guys hit free agency a year early.

I don't care about the owners except that when they make bad decisions it eventually hurts the fans.

The only flip side is that the owners have the money to pay a SS $385 million and just choose not to in most cases. If the players don't get the money the owner just keeps it and buys their wife another yacht or small village somewhere.
