7 August 2299 - Player of the Week Trophy to Earthquake
Press Earthquake burst onto the Commonwealth Association stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie catcher for Bunker Hill garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 20-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .417 (5-for-12) with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs last week.
This season Earthquake has hit 5 home runs and posted a .297 batting average.
7 August 2299 - MA Star of the Week Named
20-year-old Justin Vertz made a few Cabot House headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Massachusetts Association officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 6 hits in 14 at-bats to put up a .429 average. Vertz collected 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
Vertz currently has a .293 batting average with 67 hits, 7 homers, 35 RBIs, 33 runs scored and a .357 OBP.
