Also, I don't enjoy playing the MLB in OOTP. I am basically fictional only.
I grew up in the NOLA area, so of course we never had an MLB team, though we came close to getting the A's before and maybe the Royals, too, when they were threatening to leave. My favorite local baseball team has been attending games at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge for the LSU Tigers.
I also grew up watching a lot of TBS and WGN and WWOR, so I watched a lot of Braves and Cubs and Mets when I was younger. Every summer, I would also take a trip to Houston for AstroWorld and the Astrodome for Astros baseball. From all of that, my main allegiances were to the Braves and Astros. Since I got to watch the Cubs and Mets a lot, too, I was well aware of NL baseball and still feel more of a pull to the NL teams just because I had full access to them when I was younger. The AL was for Sunday national broadcasts only.

I used to go to LSU games at the Box... stopped going when they spent 40 million dollars on the new stadium and softball field for the Lady Tigers... the old Box was fine for college baseball...no new stadium was really needed... and the women's softball team had a fine stadium, too... but they needed a new men's baseball stadium to compete with the new SEC stadiums around the league... Title IX meant they had to build a new stadium for the women... that was an awful lot of money for college athletics in my opinion... 30 million dollars for the men's stadium and 10 million dollars for the women's stadium.
I stop going to LSU baseball games when they raised the price to $8 a game... that way too much for college baseball.
But as you know we are happy in Louisiana if the sports teams are #1 while our academics rate 50th in nation... we in Louisiana don't have our priorities right... the state would be much better off if the academics were #1 and our sports teams were rated 50th.
Big companies don't want to come to Louisiana because of the poor educational level of our schools.
