The names.dat file is probably corrupted. Try going to the rs_one or rs_two folder inside the save, and copy the names.dat file from it into the main folder for that save, overwriting the one that's there. If the rolling save is from before the problem occurred, that will fix it. If not, start a new game of the same type and use the names.dat file in it. That should restore the names to what they were previously.
